Hakikta Najin Jordan is a Lakota Sioux from Pine Ridge and Rosebud reservations. He is the great-great-grandson of the legendary Chief Red Cloud and the great-grandson of the famous War chief Hakikta Najin. The present day Hakikta Najin is a well-respected Sun dancer, he is a leader of the influential traditional veterans council, Tokala Society, and in 1996 he was appointed the tribe’s ambassador to Denmark. He is a fantastic interpreter of the old Lakota Sioux Wacipi social dances. He has great knowledge of and experience in the old ceremonies and traditions from the Rosebud and Pine Ridge reservations and in relating the essence to a contemporary Western concept frame. He is a natural story-teller interpreting legends and stories from his family with great humour and with an eye for the value for the points of the story. Hakikta Najin’s ability to make the fundamental human values clear and simple is a wonderful and meaningful experience for the whole audience.

Marianne Tretow-Loof Jordan, Danish by birth, married to Hakikta Najin in January 1995, has for the past 20 years traveled to and lived on several Native American reservations in the U.S., including Rosebud, where she was introduced to the old traditions and ceremonies of the Lakotas, and she is today a respected Sundancer. She is also a Jingle Dress dancer and Traditional dancer.
For many years, Marianne and Hakikta Najin have traveled around Denmark, Sweden, Germany and England to give lectures and courses on the Lakota philosophy in relation to Western culture. During a ceremony on the Rosebud reservation in 2001, she was honoured for her effort in spreading knowledge and understanding for the Lakota Sioux situation in USA, and furthermore she was adopted by Chief Albert White Hat of the Rosebud reservation.
